If your screenshot shows content for a different country or currency than expected, it's likely due to IP-based geolocation. This guide explains why this happens and what you can do about it.

    Why This Happens

Many websites detect your location based on your IP address and show localized content:

    • IP-based geolocation: Websites determine your location from your IP address

    • Automatic localization: Sites automatically show content for your detected country

    • Currency detection: E-commerce sites show prices in your local currency

    • Language preferences: Content may be in a different language

    • Regional restrictions: Some content may only be available in certain regions

PeekShot's servers are located in specific regions, so screenshots reflect the location of those servers, not your location.

    Current Limitations

As of now, PeekShot may not support geolocation override features. This means:

    • Screenshots will show content for the server's location

    • You cannot specify a target country or region

    • Currency and language will match the server's location

Check the latest API documentation to see if geolocation features have been added.

    Workarounds (If Available)

    1. Proxy URL

If PeekShot supports proxy URLs, you may be able to route requests through proxies in different countries:

    • Use a proxy in your target country

    • Requests will appear to come from that location

    • Content will be localized for that region

    2. Custom Headers

Some sites accept headers that override geolocation:

    • Accept-Language headers

    • X-Forwarded-For headers (if supported)

    • Custom location headers (site-specific)

Note: This only works if the target site supports these headers.

    3. API Parameters

If geolocation features are available in the API, check for parameters like:

    • country or region

    • locale or language

    • currency

Refer to the latest API documentation for available options.

    When This Is Expected Behavior

    Geolocation-based content is expected when:

    • The website automatically detects location

    • You haven't specified a target location

    • The site doesn't support location override

    • PeekShot doesn't have geolocation features enabled

This is normal behavior for many websites and not necessarily an error.

    Contact Support for Geo Targeting

If you need geolocation targeting for your use case:

    • Create a support ticket from Dashboard → Help

    • Explain your use case and requirements

    • Specify which countries/regions you need

    • Ask about available options or future features

PeekShot may be able to provide solutions or add this feature based on demand.

    Best Practices

    • Understand limitations: Be aware that geolocation may affect content

    • Test first: Check what content appears before setting up automation

    • Document expectations: Note which location content you're expecting

    • Contact support: If geo targeting is critical for your use case
